The surgery is over. The fibroid is gone. The cyst is out. By all accounts, I should probably be feeling relieved. And I am... mostly. But if there's one thing I've learned about being an overthinker, it's that the finish line has a way of moving.
Now my mind has found something else to obsess over.
The biopsy.
The rational side of me knows it's standard procedure. They remove something, they send it to the lab, they check it under a microscope. It doesn't automatically mean they found something sinister. But anxiety isn't exactly known for listening to reason. It has a habit of filling in blank spaces with worst-case scenarios.
The other day, while those thoughts were making themselves comfortable in my head, I happened to glance at the time. It was 10:52 AM. On a whim, I searched for the Bible verse with the same numbers.

"Go," said Jesus, "your faith has healed you."
I just stared at it for a while.
Did I suddenly know what the biopsy results would be? No. The uncertainty didn't magically disappear, and neither did the waiting. But something else did.
The noise.
Because maybe that's what I needed more than answers in that moment. Not certainty about tomorrow, but peace for today. A reminder that I don't have to carry every "what if" before it even exists.
I realized that overthinking is really just my way of trying to control what I can't. I convince myself that if I worry enough, I'll somehow be more prepared for bad news. But all it really does is make me suffer twice. Once in my imagination, and maybe never in reality.
That day, the overthinker in me was gently interrupted.
Not by a medical report. Not by reassurance from Google. But by a simple verse that reminded me where my focus should be. Whatever the biopsy says will be what it is. Worrying about it today won't change tomorrow's results.
So for now, I'll do the hardest thing an overthinker can do. I'll wait. And I'll trust.
Because once again, my anxious mind had plenty to say. And once again, the Word of the Lord had the final word.
